Add a customer to Tukri to sell to them on due, collect what they owe and send them parcels by courier. A name and phone number are enough; an area, address and due limit are optional.

  • Two customers in a shop cannot share a phone number.

  2. Click Add customer at the top right.

On a phone or tablet

  3. If the customer already owed you money before you started using Tukri, type it in Previous due. Only the shop's owner sees this field. More: Add a customer's previous due.
  4. If you like, set a Due limit: Tukri warns you at the till when the customer's total due goes past it. Add customer: name, phone, area, full address, previous due and due limit

After saving

The customer appears in the list, and at the till you can find them by name or phone and attach them to the cart.

If something goes wrong

The phone number is refused. Another customer in the shop already has it. Search the list for the number.

There is no previous due field. Only the shop's owner sees it, and only when adding a new customer. To bring in an old balance for a customer who already exists, open their খাতা and use Credit given, noting that it is their old balance.

What the video says

Adding a new customer to Tukri? With their old due too? Let's see.

Open Customers from the menu at the bottom. Then tap the round button in the middle.

Type the customer's name and phone number; both are required. Add an area and full address if you like; they help with home delivery or a courier.

If they owed you before Tukri, type it in the Previous due box. Only the shop's owner sees this box, and only when adding a new customer. Set a Due limit if you like; when it's passed, Tukri warns you as you sell.

Now tap Save. With a previous due, Tukri asks you once. Check the amount and the name; it can't be edited later. If it's right, tap Add customer.

Done, the customer is in the list, and the previous due is in their খাতা. This isn't a sale, so stock and cash aren't touched. A sale on due adds to the due, a collection takes it down.
