Sell on due and take part payment

Attach a customer while selling and leave the whole bill, or what is left of it, as due in their খাতা. Taking part now and the rest later works the same way.

If a customer will not pay the whole bill now, attach them to the cart while selling, type what they paid, and choose Mark remainder as due. The rest goes straight into their খাতা as Sale on due. If they pay nothing now, the whole bill is left on due.

Before you begin

  • A due can only be left with a customer attached. If they are not in Tukri yet, you can add them while selling (below).
  • If you have not sold on Tukri before, start with Make a sale at the till.

Sell on due

  1. Put the products in the cart on the till.
  2. Attach the customer:

On a computer

Click Walk-in customer · tap to attach at the top of Current sale on the right.

On a phone or tablet

Tap the Checkout bar at the bottom to open the cart, then tap Attach customer.

  1. In Select customer, type a name or phone number and choose the customer. Anything they already owe is shown beside them. For a new customer, tap New customer and enter a name and phone. Select customer: searching by phone number, with the customer's existing due beside them
  2. The cart now shows the customer's name and current due. Tap Take payment. The cart with a customer attached: Salma Begum, her current due and the Take payment button
  3. Type what the customer paid now, or leave it empty if they paid nothing. Remaining shows how much is left.
  4. Tap Mark remainder as due. The remainder turns amber and reads Due. Payment: a total of 265 taka, 100 in cash, 165 due, and Mark remainder as due chosen
  5. Tap Complete sale. The receipt shows what was paid and what is left on due, and for whom. Sale complete: total 265, paid 100, due 165 for Salma Begum

What happens next

  • The due part is added to the customer's খাতা as Sale on due: The Due Book.
  • What they paid goes into the account you chose, and the goods sold leave your stock.
  • When the customer pays later, record it in the খাতা: Collect a customer's due.

If something goes wrong

It will not let me leave a due. No customer is attached. A walk-in customer cannot owe; attach a customer first.

A due limit warning appears. The customer's total due would go past their Due limit. It is only a warning: you can still complete the sale.

The customer paid later, but the sale still shows as due. Recording the payment in the খাতা lowers the customer's due, but the sale in the Sales list keeps its original due. The customer's real balance is in their খাতা.

What the video says

The customer can't pay the whole bill? Put the rest in their খাতা, in Tukri.

Put the products in the cart, then tap Checkout. Tap Attach customer and search by name or phone number. What they already owe shows beside them. A new customer? Add them right there.

Now tap Take payment. Type what the customer paid now. If they paid nothing, leave it empty. Then tap Mark remainder as due.

When you tap Complete sale, the rest goes into the customer's খাতা.

When the customer pays later, open the Due Book from the bottom bar. At the top you see the total everyone owes you. Tap the customer's name, then Collect due.

Type how much you received. Choose the account the money came into. Tap Collect payment, and the due in the খাতা goes down. Every entry is kept with its date; nothing is ever erased.
